Identity theft has become a persistent and growing problem that, unfortunately, has become a part of life. At First National Bank, we have a multitude of protection controls in place to ensure your accounts are safe. That noted, there are many other ways thieves can steal your identity that reach beyond our watch.
To help protect you, we offer ID TheftSmart™, a service provided by SHAZAM® the same trusted company that issues FNB debit cards, will help you monitor your credit or help restore your credit and identity if you become a victim of identity theft.
Credit Monitoring
This service is $10.00 a month per person and includes the restoration service.
Credit monitoring covers all three credit bureaus. They look for changes in your credit report such as new account opening, credit inquiry, late payments, change of address and public record changes. You will receive an alert by email when one of these changes have been detected.
Restoration
If restoration is all you need, it is offered for $2.00 a month per household.
ID TheftSmart™ employs a team of criminal investigators and credit experts who understand the habits of these new high tech criminals.
This coverage includes:
Protection
- Access to professionals who will advise you on how to guard your personal identifying information, provide tips for shopping online and using social media, and recommend ways to protect your computer and much more
Detection
- If your information may have been compromised, they will develop an action plan, interpret and analyze your credit report, set up a credit report freeze and fraud alerts, and assess any other suspicious activities.
Restoration
- If your identity was stolen, they will determine the nature and scope of the crime, help obtain a police report, work on your behalf until ALL I.D. theft issues are verifiably resolved and more.
