Our History

1901

The First National Bank of Pinckneyville is established with its first office in the Driemeyer building on the northwest corner of the square.

1903

FNB opens their first building on the corner of North Main and Water Streets. Banking services would be provided at this location for nearly 70 years.

1934

First National Bank of Pinckneyville reopened, restructuring as First National Bank in Pinckneyville after a mandated government banking holiday.

1971

FNB moves into the current building at 210 S. Main St. with drive-thru lanes and state of the art facilities.

1997

Formed First National Insurance Services as an affiliate company, wholly owned by the bank holding company.

1999-2001

Purchased the Pinckneyville branch of Chester National Bank in 1999 and the Steeleville branch of Union Planters in 2001 further expanding customer base

2001

FNB celebrates 100 years with a new scholarship program, “First in Education.” The largest, locally-funded scholarship fund, First in Education is a $1 million commitment to Pinckneyville Community High School graduates. This program continues more than two decades later.

2000s

Continued to provide exemplary Customer Service through remodels and refocusing on the Pinckneyville area.

2018-2023

Updates to all Online Banking Products and the release of a consumer app, bank social media pages, chip cards, and new technology, further expanding FNB’s competitive edge. These innovations help ensure that there are no major disruptions despite the COVID-19 pandemic

2026

In 2026 FNB will celebrate 125 years of being ‘First’ in banking, looking forward to a bright future where FNB remains community-focused.
